My Name is Lizzie Bennet, and...

So, I belong to an online interpretive community called the Lizzie Bennet Diaries, a vlog series created by Hank Green. The vlog features actors who tweet and comment as the characters themselves, although they do speak as "real" people in interviews.

The vlog is based off Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen with its own modern flair. Lydia is a party girl in community college and Lizzie is getting her graduate degree in digital media. Mr. Collins proposes a job offer to Lizzie at his company, a high-paying website that makes informational videos. Mr. Darcy is the CEO of a rich digital firm.

Although it can't measure up to the original story, the LBD do a pretty good job. Lydia is more charming in the series, Wickham is more hateable, and Georgiana Darcy is more of an integral part of the story.

The online community appeals to original Jane Austen fans, those that like the spin offs, and romantics of today.
